Ha! What took him 28 mins to create took me two and a half hours and my painting came out nothing like his. LOL! Ok. I guess I could have painted while watching him, but instead I sat down with music and painted from what I could recall. I also have to take into account that 1: He had 20 years of experience and was a professional...and 2: He was using oil paint on canvas and I was using acrylic paint on canvas board (makes for cheaper practice material). I do have to say that for a first attempt at a landscape painting, I am impressed with myself. I am sure if I actually put time to practice painting I can get the knack of it. It's just a matter of practicing, like always.
I can't say that I am really happy with my river. The mini waterfalls just don't seem right to me. Maybe I will go and make some changes later on. As for now, I am done with it. There was a lot of frustration and I decided to leave it at it's current point rather than screw it up while being frustrated. In the end, it was a massive learning experience, and I did have some fun doing it. I look forward to the next one!
