Ink and Pencil Cranes

This is what I have been working on lately for one of my art classes. I first started to do it in pencil, only to find later that he wanted just the outline sketch in pencil and the rest in freaking ink. Sigh. That is the one on the right.

The middle one is done with a sharpie fine pen in a style called stipling, which is essentially a million dots to make the whole thing. The third on the left is a continuation of the middle one with a dark background done all in stipling too. I have spent like ten hours on that one. I still think I am gonna add more to the shading of the crane.

Pretty cool when you look at them in comparison, no?

Wow... The stipling is what I find almost impossible. I can't imagine even trying that. Amazing job... as always.

    1. Thanks Kevin!

Yeah, stipling is something rather new to me still. This is my second time doing it. The first was with a regular sharpie marker and much smaller in size. I didn't like the way it came out. However, this time was ten times better and I like the style a lil better. That's whats good about my classes....they force me to try things in different ways. ^_^
