Turning Into Your Parents!

Have you ever realized that you say the same things to your kids, that your parents used to say to you? Growing up, we vow that we will never be like them, raise our kids differently, etc. At least, I know I did.

Though I have changed quite a bit of how I was raised to reflect my knowledge, ideals, morals, etc....there is one thing that I constantly catch myself doing: Using my parents "quotes." It seems like I just can't kick the habit of saying the things that used to annoy me as a kid. Maybe I do it because I want to annoy my kids with those sayings, knowing the impact they had on me as a kid. LOL.

These are a few of the things I catch myself saying. Do you say them to? Are there any others you heard as a kid? I would be interested to know...and if they are good ones, maybe I will use them too. (hee hee) ^_^

1. Do as I say, not as I do!
2. If so and so jumped off a bridge, are you going to jump too?
3. I have eyes in the back of my head...I see everything!
4. You ask a ten cent question and expect a million dollar answer.
5. When I was your age.......
6. If you can't take the pain, don't play the game.
7. Life isn't fair.
8.Because I said so!
9. There are kids starving in......
10.Oh, grow up / act your age!

There are a few others, but as I write this...my mind suddenly hit a blank..lol.

  2. Lmao! I was just telling my son the same thing as #11, only a bit different. I was working on my hallway art while my son kept going from one side )the kitchern) to the other (my room). I got tired of it because it kept requiring to move stuff and so I told him " Stop going back and forth, you either stay on that side or you stay on this side! I am not moving again!" <3
